Limited Editions - December 2017 - April 2018

At the Village Winery we are seasonally able to offer one-of-a-kind and highly sought after wine Limited Editions. These very special, high quality choices are very limited in number and generally arrive in the December – April period. Please call or email to reserve any of the Limited Editions.

The prices listed are for the kits or ingredients only. To make wine on site, our regular fee of $55 is charged. There is no additional charge for labels, caps or corks. Each batch makes the equivalent of 30 – 750 ml bottles. The dessert ports make 30 – 375 ml bottles.

 GRENACHE (Rhone Valley, France – Passport Series)  ... $128

December 2017 - This French varietal has a distinctive combination of fruit and spice in the aroma, making for a lively wine. This medium to full-bodied red boasts flavours of red fruit, with hints of anise and tobacco. Fine tannins leave the palate balanced on the finish.

SHIRAZ - VIOGNIER (Australia – Cru Select RQ)  ... $149

December 2017 – This Australian Shiraz - Viognier is stylish, yet refined. Fermented on Cru Select's Winery Dried Grape Skins, it is lush with a tapestry of smooth tannins and succulent dried fruits, vanilla and black pepper..

PETIT RUBY CABERNET (Riverland. Australia – Selection LE)  ... $133

January 2018 – Petit Ruby Cabernet is a blend of Petit Verdot and Ruby Cabernet. Ruby Cabernet takes the best qualities of its parents, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan, creating a structured, robust wine with soft tannins while the Petit Verdot brings intriguing flavours of dark berries and vanilla. Elegant fruit flavours of currant, juicy plum and dark berries complemented by notes of spicy ground black pepper with hints of herb and vanilla make this medium to full-bodied wine a delight to enjoy.

CHARDONNAY - CHENIN BLANC (Rawsonville, South Africa – Selection LE) ... $131

January 2018 – Chardonnay is refreshing to layer with lesser known varietals like Chenin Blanc, South Africa's signature white. Grapes from the Rawsonville region, a small picturesques wine growing and farming community on the eastern flanks of the Du Toitskloof Mountains in the Western Cape province make up this blend. The result is a fruit driven white wine with a high but pleasant natural acidity. Carrying distinct cultivar characteristics, tropical fruit aromas marry with baked apple citrus zest and juicy peach. On the palate, the buttery complexity of Chardonnay is complimented by Chenin Blanc's acidity to make a beautifully balanced white wine. 

CARMENERE (Chile - Cru Select RQ)  ... $149

January 2018 – Opulent and rich, Carmenere boasts the luscious flavours of red cherries and berries, with hints of spice and leather. Fermented on Winery Grape Crushed Grapes, this classic red is enhanced with robust tannins.

VIOGNIER - ROUSSANE - MARSANNE (Northern Rhone & Savoie, France – Passport Series)  ... $124

January 2018 – This enchanting white Rhoone blend marries three varietals, Viognier, Roussane and Marsanne into one tantalyzing white wine. Peach, pear and honeysuckle in the bouquet make way for hints of spice, pear, tangerine and fresh rose petal on the palate. Crisp and balanced, the finish allows to fully enjoy the floral and fruit flavours.

MERLOT (Hawke's Bay, New Zealand – Selection LE)  ... $133

February 2018 – Hawke's Bay is the oldest wine producing region in New Zealand its beautiful climate offers lots of sunshine and pleasant conditions year-round. The result is a region that produces some of the finest wines in the country and Merlot contributes to this well-earned reputation. Ripe fruit with spice and soft tannins take precedence in this Merlot. The lingering finish brings dark oaky spice, as well as hints of mocha and licorice.

TEMPRANILLO (Spain – Cru Select RQ)  ... $149

February 2018 – Sourced from Spain, Tempranillo adds panache to any cellar. Fermented on Winery Dried Grape Skins, this Tempranillo skillfully balances fresh berries with savory notes of pepper and smoke.

AGLIANICO - CABERNET - MERLOT (Campania/Tuscany/Veneto, Italy – Passport Series)  ... $128

February 2018 – Aglianico, a full-bodied varietal, adds personality to classic Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in a bold crimson blend. With rustic earthy flavours including spicy pepper, leather and tobacco to ripe plum and black fruits, this blend's fine tannins provide a pleasing finish. The fruit and earth are in harmony, creating a beautifully balanced red wine.

MILAGRO BLANCO (La Mancha, Spain - Selection LE)  ... $131

March 2018 – Muscat, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc are wonderful on their own but sing when blended together. Muscat is fruity and crisp, Verdejo has mineral and citrus notes, and Sauvignon Blanc is herbaceous with pleasing acidity. When married, their unique elements create an off-dry, soft, refreshing, fruit-forward wine with a bright bouquet and a complex finish. Milagro Blanco carries notes of passion fruit and white flower on the nose, and is supported by juicy melon, peach, fresh lime and grass with hint of honey on the palate.

RIESLING (Germany - Cru Select RQ)  ... $139

March 2018 – From renowned German vineyards, this Riesling is captivating and complex. Crisp flavours of honey, peach, and lemon finish with a lingering minerality. This Riesling may be made dry or sweetened to taste.

TWO ROADS RED - PETIT SYRAH, ZINFANDEL & CABERNET SAUVIGNON (Dry Creek Valley, Calif - Passport Series)  ... $139

March 2018 – Fermented on crushed grapes, this big red is a real powerhouse with a bold taste and tannic backbone. The addition of Petit Syrah softens the jammy notes that are characteristic of Zinfandel and the Cabernet Sauvignon lends texture. Dark ripe berry aromas blend with smoke and spice elements that lead into flavours of black cherry, vanilla, and black pepper with a lasting finish.

NEGROAMARO (Bellissimo, Italy - Selection LE)  ... $142

April 2018 – Negroamaro is richly-hewed, full-bodied and a classic varietal in Apulia, Italy. Fermented on crushed grapes, mild hints of wood and spice on the nose play with fruity notes for a complex aroma. On the palate, ripe berry is complemented by ground baking spice and silky tannins with a long finish.
